Mabrik is specialized in pelleting die production, built with the best quality steels and using the most modern technology for their execution, thermal treatment and finish.

We manufacture dies for all types of pellet mills, using case hardening and stainless steel, with a range of drill diameters from 1.8 to 25 mm, and special pellet shapes (square, biscuits, among many others). To guarantee the fulfillment of our specifications, our dies undergo a rigorous control both structurally and metallographically. The drilling process is executed in automatic machines, specially designed for this process, applying the most advanced tool technologies at all times. This enables us to achieve the perfect distribution of the drills and an optimal finish on the hole internal surfaces.

Reception of raw material
At Mabrik we select the best quality European steels to have an optimal starting material. This is vital for all the machining processes that follow and, above all, for the suitable operation of the pellet mill die. These steels are forged and laminated with certain leftovers that enable us to later obtain the desired final measurements with high precision.

All our dies go through a testing process in the design phase that enables us to adapt to each customer’s needs, so they can be personalised for each one.

Machining / Lathing
Machining / Lathing
Once the die’s geometry is defined in the design phase, the rings are lathed with the desired dimensions (leaving a leftover in the critical zones to be rectified, which will be machined in the final phases of the process after carrying out the thermal treatment). In this process, impurities and superficial imperfections produced when the rings are forged and laminated are eliminated and we can guarantee the concentricity and flatness of all the dimensions.

Drilling
Drilling
We obtain drilling with a quality surface finish, as well as a uniform drill distribution. The range of diameters that can be drilled with our machines go from Ø1.8 mm to Ø25 mm. Drills with special geometries in “biscuit” shape with 2 and 3 holes are also done.

Counter drilling
Counter drilling
The counter drilling process helps the die to facilitate the entry of the product into the die holes. Depending on the diameter and the type of product to be milled, the geometry of the counter drilling will be modified to obtain the best results in each specific milling case.

Thermal treatment
Thermal treatment
The main purpose of this thermal treatment is to provide the die with the hardness required to bear the high pressure stresses produced during the pelleting with full guarantees, and to lengthen the useful life of the die due to the constant friction stresses it bears.

Final rectification
Final rectification
The rectification process guarantees both the perfect concentricity and flatness of the rings. The critical anchor zones are also machined with high precision with narrow finish tolerances to guarantee the perfect placement of the die in the pellet mill during assembly.

Quality control
Quality control
Geometric dimensions, concentricity, surface finish of the drilling and hardness verification are extremely important aspects in developing a successful pelleting process. For this reason, we use all five senses to verify all and every one of the details once all the machining processes are completed.

Smoothing
Smoothing
A smoothing process is carried out which consists of simulating the pelleting process by passing a specific product through the holes. Furthermore, if any irregularity is observed after the stainless steel die quality control, this process is also applied to guarantee that the delivery of the die complies with our quality standards.

Packing and transportation
Packing and transportation
The final step consists of carefully cleaning all the dies, identifying them with a serial number and manufacturing characteristics, and packing them. This packaging provides protection to prevent the dies oxidising. Once packed, the dies go to our customers or remain in our stock to fulfill the most competitive delivery terms.
